The Department of Slavic and Eurasian Studies is proud to announce the third screening of the renowned Czech Film Series. All films will be shown every Thursday at 6:30pm in BUR 231.

This week's screening will show The Fimfárum of Jan Werich (2002), a puppet film set to a 1960s recording of legendary Czech actor Jan Werich (1905-1980) reading his story FimFárum. The film is a collection of 5 short tales: When the Leaves Fall from the Oak, Fearless Frankie, Mean Barka, A Dream Fulfilled, and Fimfárum. The tales are as the old fables used to be, with a great understanding of human nature and social vices. Being so, the stories have a "moral" , but they are modern stories, naughty, irreverent, funny, sweet, and the moral will surprise you.

Films are free and open to the public.*

Films are in Czech with English subtitles.
