What is career coaching?
Career coaching is a helpful service you can receive at Liberal Arts Career Services. In a nutshell, the best way to describe career coaching is that it takes you from where you are to where you want to go. Your career coach can help you with all aspects of your job search from writing your resume to designing your plan for landing a job at graduation. Some students find that they can get all the help they need in one session; others return for several sessions. There is no limit on the number of times you can see your career coach. Take advantage of this service while you're still a student: private career coaches charge over $100 an hour; your service here is free.
Do you offer internship advising?
Career coaches provide individualized internship advising assistance to help you identify resources to discover internships; write your resume and cover letter; and to prepare for an internship interview. Career coaches can also help connect you with credit-granting internship courses.
Who is eligible for career coaching at Liberal Arts Career Services?
Liberal Arts Career Services provides career coaching for current undergraduate liberal arts students. Alumni are also eligible to meet with a career coach for a one-year grace period immediately following their graduation date. Please note that students are required to Register with Liberal Arts Career Services prior to scheduling an appointment.
What issues may be discussed in a coaching appointment?
Career coaches provide career development assistance. Whether you're seeking a full-time job, an internship, a short-term experience after graduation, or a summer job, our career coaches can assist you with resume and cover letter writing, researching employers and job and internship opportunities, preparing for a case study or behavioral interview, conducting a mock interview, completing an employment application, and answering any questions you have about the job search.
How do I register with Liberal Arts Career Services?
We use the BTT Gateway database to assist the students we serve. The database includes information on employer information sessions, on-campus interviews, campus and community career fairs, and employer, job, and internship opportunities. To register with Liberal Arts Career Services, please create your BTT Gateway account.
