Historian Examines the Building of Glen Canyon Dam and the Fate of Rainbow Bridge National Monument

The Institute for Historical Studies presents a talk titled "Drowning Gods and Developing Prayer Sites: the Building of Glen Canyon Dam and the Fate of Rainbow Bridge National Monument" by Erika Bsumek, associate professor of history.

 Bsumek's current research explores the impact of large construction projects—including dams, highways and suburbs—on the American West.  Her current book project is titled "The Concrete West: Engineering Society and Culture in the Arid West, 1900-1970."
