Classics Professor Gives Dramatic Readings from the Classical World

The Plan II Honors Program presents "Underworld Suite: Readings from Homer, Virgil, Ovid and Dante" by Stanley Lombardo, professor of classics at the University of Kansas.

Dr. Lombardo will read a sequence of five passages from Iliad, Odyssey, Aeneid, Ovid's Metamorphoses and Dante's Inferno having to do with the underworld.

A native of New Orleans, Lombardo holds his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. At the University of Kansas, he teaches Greek and Latin at all levels, as well as general courses on Greek literature and culture.
