COLA piloted the University’s first ever Dissertation Boot Camp this summer, and, boy, are we ever fired up for next year! Eleven students cloistered themselves away in the Glickman Conference center in the new CLA Building for nine days. At the end of the camp, the group collectively wrote over 240 pages—that’s an entire dissertation!
In addition to participating in two, 2-3 hour writing blocks each day, participants learned writing techniques, best practices for wellness and nutrition, and discussed professional academic life with Liberal Arts faculty. The collegial, interdisciplinary environment left us all with high hopes for future cross-college collaboration and for next year’s boot camp.

Information on applying for next year’s program will be released in spring 2014.
