Anima Adjepong is the winner of the 2013 NASSS Barbara Brown Student Paper Award for her paper "Rethinking sportswomen's un/apologetics: Gender, race, and sexuality on and off the rugby pitch."

This award, named in honor of the late Barbara Brown beginning in 1991, is granted to the best student-authored, non-published paper submitted for consideration.

The award recipient will receive up to $1000 towards his/her North American Society for the Sociology of Sport (NASSS) conference expenses, plus a waiver of the conference registration fee. Students are encouraged to submit a paper for consideration for the Barbara Brown Outstanding Student Paper Award presented annually at the NASSS conference.

Congratulations, Anima!
