Suzan Zeder, emeritus, is a nationally and internationally recognized playwright of theatre for youth and member of the College of Fellows of the American Theatre. Her plays include: Step on a Crack, Wiley and the Hairy Man, In a Room Somewhere, and The Death of Life of Sherlock Holmes. Her work has been produced off-Broadway and in all fifty states, Canada, Great Britain, Japan, Australia, Germany, Israel, and New Zealand. An anthology of her plays, Wish in One Hand and Spit in the Other, was published by Anchorage Press in 1990 and her Spaces of Creation: The Creative Process of Playwriting was awarded the Distinguished Book Award from the American Alliance of Theatre and Education, which has four times granted her their Distinguished Play Award. Recently retired, Suzan continues to play a role in the playwriting program which she headed for many years and in MCW admissions.
