Second year students are eligible to apply for "for-credit" internship positions with the Austin U.S. Attorney's Office. Information on the U.S. Attorney's Office is available at www.usdoj.gov/usao/txw/
. This is a wonderful opportunity for any U.T. student considering a career in criminal law.
The position requires a commitment to work 10 hours per week for two consecutive semesters. Interns will receive two credits per semester. This internship is offered "pass/fail" only. Interns must also enroll in a Fall 3- unit seminar, Advanced Federal Criminal Prosecution, taught by Prof. Susan Klein and AUSA Anthony Brown.

Applicants must submit a cover letter and resume to Mary Collier, Faculty Assistant to Professor Susan Klein (room 4.113) no later than the end of April to register for the Fall semester. Applications are being accepted NOW for the Fall 2008 Semester.
Tony Brown will contact the students directly for interviews. Students who have taken Criminal Procedure courses are preferred. Applicants must have taken Federal Criminal Law and Advanced Federal Criminal Prosecution or should plan to do so during the internship period. If selected, students will need to register for the internship in the Student Affairs Office (room 2.117).
Following completion of the internship, interns will need to submit a written two page description of their work at the U.S. Attorney's Office, copies of memoranda, briefs, or any other written work they submitted there, and a verification letter from their supervisor that they have met the 10 hour per week commitment.
