Description
This course will cover finance of commercial real estate projects, including loan commitments, loan agreements, promissory notes, mortgages and deeds of trust, foreclosure and other loan collection methods, a brief review of bankruptcy law applied to commercial real estate loans, and a brief exposure to securitized real estate finance.  A traditional casebook will be used together with supplemental materials collected by the instructor.  The tentative plan for the final evaluation is a fixed-date take home exam with true-false, multiple choice questions, and essays.  It will have a three hour time limit and word limits for each essay question.

Although not a prerequisite, it is strongly advised that first year students who take this course as an elective have already completed the Contracts class.  If you wish to take this class at the same time you are taking the Contracts class, please visit with the professor as soon as possible after the semester starts.
