The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing and Dell Children's Medical Center will jointly host Zoom informational sessions for this new program.

Three UT Austin School of Nursing faculty members will be inducted into the 2020 class of fellows of the American Academy of Nursing.

Co-moderators Shannon W. Jones and Jacki Hecht, interviewed Pastor Ray Hendricks, Rehoboth Baptist Church, Ms. Angela Bigham, Health Ministry Leader at Rehoboth Baptist Church and Ms. Deborah Duncan (LMSW), Program Coordinator with the City of Austin/Austin Public Health Department’s Health Equity and Community Engagement Unit and the sponsor of KAZI’s “Health Talk”.

Today we begin a new and novel academic year at The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing. We are fortunate to have our students back to start the next chapter of their nursing career, especially during a time when the need for nurses is at an all-time high.

While our country was still processing and mourning the deaths of Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor, we watched as George Floyd’s life was taken right before our eyes.

Shannon W. Jones was joined by Jacki Hecht, Lelonda Reese, and Sandy Yaklin to discuss how music can offer comfort and healing to the mind, body and spirit, especially during this difficult time.

Join us for the School of Nursing’s 2020 Virtual Spring Convocation! On Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. (CDT), the School of Nursing will host a virtual ceremony in honor of the graduating Class of 2020.
